I always measure the gap before shoot a new slingshot. Now I prefer wide gaps and big-area forks. Im shooting almost exclusively sidways , I press my fingers on the forks, so I love Dankung's Toucan sereis as they have big-area at forks for my fingers to press on. that's really a big advantage over other slings. I am very accurate when the fork tips are only about 1 cm above my fingers. The wide gap (5 cm) helps the aiming.
Before I start, Id like to say that I'm a knife guy; I know a thing or two about fit and finish. This slingshot is really great when It comes to it. I bought this slingshot with my own money after trying a rosewood toucan a few years back.
Fit and Finish: 8/10
The handle on this slingshot is superb. The rosewood scales match nicely to the frame, and all the parts fit snugly together. There are only 2 reasons this didnt get a 10/10.
1: The handle protrudes slightly into the scales in spots leaving an ununiform look
2: the fibre optic sight doesnt quite fit the mounting bar properly. The hole is slightly large, by about a milimeter.
Ease of Use: 8/10
This slingshot assembles very easily with the included tools. All the parts fit tightly together, and I dont feel worried that they will come apart. I was very easily able to sight in the fibre optics to about 15m and it works as advertized. I hadnt picked up any of my slingshots in years and within 15 minutes, I was hitting a beer bottle from 20M out. The band attachment method is a little bit finnicky to get set up, but once you do, it's extremely solid. Make sure when you're clamping in a band you hear a "click"
Value: 10/10
I honestly can't say much bad about this slingshot at this price. Is it the same quality as a fully custom slingshot? No. Does it need to be? No. Does it come close? Hell yeah it does. This slingshot would be a great buy at $50. At $25, its a steal.
The most ergonomic slingshot handle I ever used. The handle matches the frame very well, unlike two similar catapults I bought elsewhere which are warped at bottom of handle.
For me, OTT lots of hands slap, TTF none. Basically, I would love to go for TTF's because I hate hand slap, additionally this TTF is about 5% bigger than other rosewood handle slingshots. Fit my hand perfectly
I wish the pouch is longer than it's . Just notice when you do replace one you'll get more resistance and more power with a fresh one so you know they loose power as they wear out. So if you need to compete or outdoor survival for food or small game hunting, simply want to impress someone, use a new band.
what I ordered are the rare rosewood Toucan and Agile rosewood toucan, generally they are beautiful and very nice little slingshot.Compact size great for pocket or a backpack. Sturdy stainless steel construction. I like the 'Rare rosewood Toucan' more as it has slimmer neck on the handle, very good grip.
After inquiry Dankung team, I purchased this one. The wider fork gap (50 mm) is excellent for accurate shooting at 10 - 20 meters with 8 mm steel ammo.(I enjoy precisely accurate short-distance small-ball shooting, such as hit the edge of Poker card ). Thank DANKUNG for great service and great product
A decent slingshot and creative projectile mechanism. I begun shootting slingshot 15 years ago, it's my first time to see a design like this. Just feel like shooting a compound bow. It's such a pity that it not include a manual . It took me 20 minutes to finish the assemble although it's in fact easy.
Beautiful little slingshot, I am very impressed. It is small but feels good in the hand as the handle is optimized for grip, I have adult male long hand with long fingers. I feel the narrow gap helps faster speed, which I have proven with the chronograph. this model's 4cm gap is just ideal!
Just pondering on Sheshou bands after getting from you the Stardi 0.8 which is an Anti Cold band and despite that works well in the hot tropics. It is durable even after a few nicks and it didn’t tear easily. Thank Dankung
I'am very glad of my slingshot. It's a beautiful? collector's item and it is very accurate. Yank you for your couresy mail.
Best regards,
THUBERT Norbert.
A breakthrough slingshot! The very comfortable grip and creative mechanism to fixing TTF band. I don't stick to 1 frame, as soon as I start to get familiar with a frame I get another and go with that until i get another..., so you can think me always being experimenting with new frame. This TTF model is by far the best TTF.
I can't say enough about the X6 Shining Edition. I love it in every way.
Before I say anything else, I need to clarify: Several reviewers have stated this X6 (Shining Edition) is 440 Stainless. It is not. It is 17-4ph stainless, which is a much higher grade. I believe the blue edition of the X6 is 440, as might be others, but not this one. It is highly magnetic 17-4ph stainless, mostly used in the aerospace industry, top quality.
This is a beautiful slingshot. I believe the colors are achieved by heat treatment, usually with a laser. I've had a couple of fork-hits, while I was snap shooting, and the color holds up famously. There's only the slightest discoloration. It's so smooth, so polished. One of the main things I like to do is fumble with it. It's truely an indistructable, life-time gadget. Such a thing is good for what ails you.
My favorite thing to do is flip shoot it, here's what I mean:
Hold the slingshot high on the forks. Start with it down in a resting position. Draw as you come up and barely take a sighting before you release. Don't really aim, just kind of quickly allign and point. Smooth and accurate, but also fast as you can.
You get really good at this quickly and it's just so fun. I think of it like a quick-draw.
Stand pretty close (10 meters) and use a pretty big target, like a paper plate size.
For this kind of fun, I get a slingshot without grooves, but to each his own. I see the X6 gives you a choice. Just start your pull staight up and the bands will alline fine. I never have a problem with that. Still, each must make his own way.
This is not only my favorite slingshot, it is one of my most prized possessions. I appreciate top quality wormanship, materials, and function. I want to take it with me when I die.
