Hi everyone,

As some of you may know I am co founder of th British catapult association ( BCA ), we run slingshots competitions up and down the country throughout the year with some of the worlds best shooters taking part.
Recently myself and the other founders hosted the very first indoor competition in Newport Wales with various events to be had including a 20m, 10m, jnr event and of course the dankung 15m tube champion.
We had a fantastic turn out with almost 100 people turning up and nearly 60 people compete ring and I have to say that the standard of shooting was amazing!
Most of the seasoned professionals were being shadowed by some new talent and it was nice to see some new faces take home silverware.
Our format for the competitions are based around a knockdown target system which is very unforgiving should you miss and takes great skill to hit all ten.
The winner of the 20m was a young lad by the name of jack Davis, a very good shot and at only 15 years old proved himself in front of a crowd.
The 10m event was the highest standard of shooting I've ever seen and in the end was won by derker beermonster who shot nearly a perfect round to take the title and we can't forget the 15m dankung challenge which was won by a complete newcomer and a very good shot, mark Clark.
Mark was shooting 1745 looped bands and shot a score of 72 out of 100 and was the best score of the day! Mark is new to the sport and shot like a champ in the 15m.
The event went really well and everyone had a good day, the atmosphere was great and to top it all off we had YouTube coverage by field sports Britain which will most definitely bring more and more people to the sport.
The standard of skill shooting a catapult is getting to heights I never thought possible 5 years ago and I predict big things for the future, especially when more and more people are getting involved everyday.
We are currently organising our next event which will be in July and is open to anyone who would like to attend.
On behalf of the BCA we would like to thank dankung for their continued support and donations to these competitions and look forward to the next one.

All the very best,

The BCA team
Keith Dighton, mark Willis, Asa wilson, Kevin Lloyd and Chris Graffin
